Our Story<\/span><\/h2>\n

Established in 1959, CGTTI started its journey at the central workshops of the Transport Board in Werahera. Rooted in an agreement between the governments of Germany and Sri Lanka, we began as a response to the growing need for skilled technicians in maintaining the bus fleet of the Transport Board.<\/p>\n

From our early days managed by German directors, we’ve evolved into an institute led by local talent. Shifting to Moratuwa in 1974, CGTTI has undergone various administrative transitions and is currently under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development.<\/p>\n

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our evaluation and testing processes. Full-time trainees undergo a comprehensive Final Trade Test, ensuring they meet the high standards set by both CGTTI and NAITA. Part-time trainees face rigorous written and practical tests at the culmination of their courses.<\/span><\/p>\n
