The Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) has always been a premier institution for technical education, and it is now taking a bold step forward in prioritizing holistic well-being. Under the visionary guidance of the Director/Principal, CGTTI recently hosted a landmark collaborative program alongside the Health Promotion Bureau and the Line Ministry.
This special initiative—part of the TVET Health Promotion Pilot Study CGTTI Visit—was designed to gather invaluable insights, ideas, and suggestions directly from staff members and trainees. The ultimate goal? To establish a dedicated CGTTI Health Committee and a fully equipped Health Corner right within the institute.
Driving Wellness from the Ground Up
The interactive program served as an open platform for dialogue, bringing together the institute’s leadership, ministry officials, and the CGTTI community. Staff and trainees actively participated in brainstorming sessions, sharing practical recommendations on how to foster a culture of health, safety, and preventative care on campus.
During the sessions, key proposals were presented outlining the specific functions and operational framework of the upcoming Health Committee. Discussions also highlighted the precise tasks the Health Corner will undertake to support daily wellness, routine check-ups, and health education.
Looking Ahead
This pilot program marks a transformative milestone for CGTTI. By bridging technical excellence with proactive health promotion, the institute is ensuring that its trainees and staff thrive not only in their workshops and classrooms but in their overall physical and mental well-being.
Stay tuned for more updates as we roll out the CGTTI Health Committee and bring the new Health Corner to life!
