Major General (retired) P.S. Kalpa Sanjeewa studied at Ananda College, Colombo.  He was enlisted in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet on 06 October 1988.  Upon successful completion of military training at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University- Ratmalana and Sri Lanka Military Academy – Diyatalawa, he was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant and posted to the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 05 October 1990.After being steadily elevated to subsequent ranks in the course of the span of service in the Army, he was promoted to the rank of Major General on 02 August 202I.  The Senior Officer retired from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 18 December 2022 on reaching 55 years of age, and prior to his retirement, he held the appointment of General Officer Commanding, 11 Infantry Division.

He has successfully followed the undermentioned local and overseas Bachelors, Masters, Diplomas and Certificate courses.

  1. Masters in Conflict and Peace Studies at the University of Colombo.
  2. Masters of Science in Management (Defence Studies) at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
  3. Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies.
  4. Bachelor in Science in Mechanical Engineering at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
  5. Bachelor of Laws at the Open University of Sri Lanka.
  6. National Diploma in Counselling at the Sri Lanka Foundation.
  7. Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, India.
  8. Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management (PQHRM) at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka.
  9. Information System Executive Course at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.
  10. Certificate Course in French Language at the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
  11. Foreign Diplomats Course at Centre for Language Education and Cooperation, China.
  12. Attorney-at-Law.

At Present he is working as the Director-Principal of Ceylon German Technical Training Institute, Ratmalana.
