CGTTCGTTI was honored to welcome Mr. Roland Kilgus, a former Director, who returned from Germany to visit CGTTI and reconnect with his memories here. Mr. Kilgus served at CGTTI from 1970 to 1976, making significant contributions to the institute’s growth by helping establish the institute in Moratuwa and developing the curriculum, foundations that continue to shape CGTTI today.
On this special occasion, we were also joined by several former Director-Principals, further enriching the event and allowing for the sharing of valuable insights and experiences. In his heartfelt speech, Mr. Kilgus expressed that Sri Lanka holds a special place in his heart, declaring that while Germany is his fatherland, Sri Lanka is his motherland. His leadership, vision, and dedication have left a lasting legacy at CGTTI, strengthening the bond between the institute and Germany. He remains a key connection point between CGTTI and Germany, and we greatly value his continued expertise in shaping our development plans.
The event concluded with a captivating music performance, leaving everyone in attendance with a sense of joy and celebration. Mr. Kilgus’s return offered a moment of reflection on CGTTI’s journey and the core values of innovation, dedication, and excellence that he helped instill. We are deeply grateful for his ongoing support in strengthening our partnership with German schools and eagerly look forward to building upon the strong foundation he laid for future generations of technical professionals
