On 12 May 2025, the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) – Moratuwa proudly hosted its annual Vesak celebration, unveiling the much-anticipated High Vesak Zone. This sacred day marked a profound expression of spiritual devotion and creative innovation, in honor of Vesak Poya, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Lord Buddha.
The day commenced with religious observances and blessings, led by the Director–Principal (CEO) of CGTTI & SLGTI, together with staff and students. These observances served as a reflection of Vesak’s core values—peace, mindfulness, and compassion.
A highlight of this year’s celebration was the breathtaking display of Vesak lanterns (Vesak kudu), meticulously designed and constructed by students across all departments. Blending traditional aesthetics with modern technological tools, these lanterns represented more than artistic creations—they stood as symbols of enlightenment, harmony, and youthful imagination.
Thousands of visitors, including members of the community, alumni, and well-wishers, gathered to experience this radiant exhibition. Each lantern told a unique story, illuminating the night and inspiring all who witnessed the brilliance and unity behind the effort.
At CGTTI, we believe in nurturing not only technical excellence but also cultural and spiritual awareness. This Vesak celebration exemplifies how technology and tradition can come together to create meaningful and lasting experiences.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to this inspiring event. May the light of Vesak continue to guide us toward wisdom, peace, and unity.
