We are proud to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards empowering Sri Lanka’s workforce with the skills required for a sustainable energy future. This year, CGTTI launched its innovative Renewable Energy Course, first introduced in May at CGTTI, and now inaugurated at the Sri Lanka-German Training Institute (SLGTI). The course is designed to equip the next generation of professionals with the technical expertise necessary to drive Sri Lanka’s transition to renewable energy.
The official inauguration ceremony took place today at CGTTI, graced by esteemed guests, including Acting Chairman W.M.R.B. Weerasekara, Ms. Kumdhuni Rosa, and Mr. Fabio from GIZ. Their presence underscores the importance of this initiative in building a skilled workforce for the renewable energy sector.
As Sri Lanka commits to reducing its carbon footprint, we are witnessing rapid developments in renewable energy projects such as wind farms in the northern region and solar power installations across the country. In response to this growing demand, our Renewable Energy Course offers a cutting-edge curriculum. Developed with insights brought back by Mr. Namal Kodithuwakku, who studied at the Vietnam-Thailand Institute, the program combines theoretical education with practical experience, including six months of annual industry-based training. This approach ensures that our trainees are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the evolving energy sector and contribute meaningfully to national energy initiatives.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued partners, including the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority and GIZ, whose support has been instrumental in the success of this program. Together, we are laying the foundation for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future for Sri Lanka.
