The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) and Ansell Lanka on 12 December 2024 marks a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s vocational education and industrial collaboration. This historic partnership is designed to elevate the skill development of students at CGTTI and the Sri Lanka German Training Institute (SLGTI) by providing them with hands-on training in essential fields such as Renewable Energy, Plant & Equipment Maintenance, and Manufacturing.

Through this agreement, students will gain practical exposure to advanced technologies and techniques in sectors including Robotics, Welding, Power Electrical, Millwright, Mechatronics, Vehicle Body Paint & Repair, Tool Machinery, and Farm Machinery. The MoU emphasizes bridging the gap between vocational training and industry requirements, ensuring that students are well-equipped for successful careers in Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, and advanced engineering.

The collaboration also reflects the ongoing efforts of CGTTI, Ansell Lanka, and the Ministry of Education’s Vocational Training Division to create a workforce that meets the evolving demands of Sri Lanka’s industrial landscape. Additionally, the partnership highlights the role of CGTTI’s former students, many of whom are already contributing to Ansell Lanka’s operations, showcasing the real-world impact of the training provided by the institute.
